The entry of Bacanora Minerals (BCN), the Canadian resources company with assets in Mexico, onto AIM yesterday was notable in that it was the first junior miner to list on the exchange for 3 years.

A bit of head scratching this morning as Chariot Oil and Gas announce a surprise placing last night to raise $15 million. The shares are down 8.5% to 16p on the news.

Positive sentiment on Quindell quickly disappears

Quindell’s shares rose strongly on Monday after a trading update reassured investors that a further cash call would not be necessary this year and showing a strong rise in revenues. After rising as high as 245p on this news, the shares are back at 194p after a series of negative articles

Insurance services group, Quindell (QPP), seems to have put the shorters including Gotham City on the back foot this morning with the shares rising as much as 25% as it reassured investors with a trading update.

Gotham City Research bagged another scalp yesterday with news that Spanish target, Gowex, had filed for bankruptcy. Owners of shares in Quindell will know Gotham well after it published a series of allegations in April 2014 and the shares fell over 4% yesterday and are down a further 3% today to 198p.

Blinkx shares bounce from lows

Its been interesting keeping an eye on Blinkx’s share price since the profits warning on July 2nd. After the shares fell over 50% on the day to 32p, they continued their slide on July 3rd, finally bottoming at 27p and then bouncing to today’s 35p. Still a 45% decline in the last week is pretty shocking.

On June 26th, Hurricane Energy, the North Sea focused fractured basement reservoir oil and gas explorer produced excellent results from its Lancaster well with the flow tests significantly exceeding expectations. The shares subsequently spiked from 28p to the mid-40p range on the day and then went as high as 54p in the next couple of days.

Rockhopper rises 9% even after Mediterranean Oil and Gas duster

Falklands driller announced a deal to acquire Mediterranean Oil and Gas (MOG) back in late April. MOG today announced news from a wildcat well offshore Malta and as expected it proved to be a duster given its low chance of success.

Blinkx shares massacred on profits warning

Shares in Blinkx, the Aim-listed online video company and bulletin board favourite, are down 45% to 36p this morning after a profits warning, valuing the company at £144 million. The shares have traded as high as 230p towards the end of 2013. A shocker indeed!
